The upgrade process is different in each country. We recommend to always first contact your audiologist for professional advice.

Below are the steps for demonstrating the medical necessity of a sound processor upgrade.

If you're ready to talk to a customer service specialist email cla-servicios@cochlear.com and indicate which country you are currently residing in.

Steps to upgrade

  1. How long have you had your current sound processor?  You may already be eligible for an upgrade.  The upgrade process is different in each country.
  2. Schedule an appointment with your local distributor or Cochlear representative office to review your current sound device and certify that is no longer reparable or your period of useful life has end.
  3. Talk to your clinician to confirm your eligibility and upgrade options.
  4. What fits your lifestyle? Explore what the latest sound processors have to offer.
  5. Check compatibility: Nucleus 7 and Kanso are compatible with all implants except the very first generation, Nucleus 22.
